Summer Time is here!

Summer is here! From our 4600 class battling it out trackside in Northern California, to the 4400 class in Texas at Summit Racing Equipment’s showroom floor, it's been busy! Turning up the heat as we head into summer, the team is gearing up for the long haul.

John Snell in the 4671 is spearheading the NorCal Rock Racing Series this season and set north for round two of competition. After winning round one, there was much prep work to do on the car including the powertrain and suspension. Battling it out in a competitive class the RaceZJ has been an integral part of Proving Grounds Racing since it was built in 2017. John Snell started in PGR as co-driver with John Grounds and has been piloting the 4671 RaceZJ for six years now!

With the multiple heats for race day, John stayed in the front of the pack to hold the lead at the start line for the final heat when tragedy struck when the car failed to start for staging. Frantically working on solving the problem, it was determined that they did not have the spare parts needed for getting the car's electricals back to operational needs. Until the final round in the series, the team will fix and prep the car for the next trackside showdown!

The AZ team ventures east to Texas showcasing the 4415 in Summit Racing Equipment’s showroom. Summit racing has been a main partner and supporter of PGR since 2020 when the first Miller chassis was brought to life. Over the years Summit Racing and Proving Grounds Racing have driven the fleet of PGR vehicles to multiple podium finishes, including Joe Gatlin's 2nd place finish at King of The Hammers in 2022 in the 4570 RaceLJ. Summit Racing has helped carve a path into our program with their team's support, knowledge, and diverse inventory for prep and being ready for race day. If you are in the Arlington area you need to check out the 4415 Ultra4 car at Summit Racing Equipment this summer!

While we prepare for what’s to come this season, our very own Joe Gatlin took off for the Ultra4 Big Sky 200. For two years running, the 4415 Miller Motorsports Pro Chassis placed on the podium. Can Joe keep that PGR streak going in 2022? To qualify for King of The Hammers you have to be a top ten contender in a regional race and the pressure was on, being Joe would be in a whole different build of a car vs the Miller Pro Chassis! Joe is piloting Fire River Racing's Jimmy’s Chassis this round. Running a long day with co-driver John Dicus, Joe landed a top 10 in the 4400 class, granting him access for 2024 King of Hammers!

Looking ahead this summer we have a lot of activity inside the team! Shows, events, and on the horizon, the Red Bull World Cup in Crandon Wisconsin. It's getting hot this summer, cool off in our PGR tee’s! If you missed any of our Moab experience check out what our friends from Dirty Life Race Wheels and Rockstar Performance Garage put together from this year’s Easter Jeep Safari run in Pritchett Canyon!
