EJS 2023!

While the dust from KOH settles, this year's shows and events for the Proving Grounds Racing team are about to kick off! What better entry for events than Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah?

Each year, thousands of Jeeps come to explore trails and festivities all week long with partners in the industry and the Red Rock 4-Wheelers. We had the chance to take the #4415 Miller Chassis out and about while the family explored some of the festivities in town. Thanks to our partners at Summit Racing Equipment, we were able to get the car ship shape for the off-roading festivities for the EJS week!

Arriving on the weekend, we linked up with Jeremy and the Rock Krawler Suspension crew for the Veteran Ride in Area BFE. This run was a great way to meet and hear stories from veterans all across the nation. Inside of this run, in the afternoon a team of us dove into Helldarado! It's been years since we have done this trail and it shows. Rain, weather, and vehicles over the years have made this more challenging than ever!

Days are filled with wheeling adventures and Jeeps, but the evenings are typically shared with friends, and gatherings of companies and partners from around the country. We were lucky enough to spend time with some of our team's partners along with friends from afar.

We say it every race but our good friends over at BFGoodrich always have our backs. After starting our week off with a bang in Area BFE, our next adventure was with the Skyjacker Suspension crew on Steel Bender. This trail has a few choice obstacles that let you choose how difficult you want to make it! What made this trail that much better were the people. Lonnie and Evan from Skyjacker are amazing family friends. With them on the run was Martin Castro, a long time friend from Savvy Offroad, Verne Simons, Trent McGee (who was also our trail guide) and many more!

Tuesday, we met up with our Dirty Life Race Wheels partners and Nick and the crew from the Rockstar Performance Garage, and we took to the brisk early morning outskirts of town for a day on Pritchett Canyon. Leading the trail for the day in the #4415 was a blast. Nick and his team had their Grdloc build along with their Rokbugy rig, Tanner joined from Rock Slide Engineering, and a few of the Rockstar Garage ambassador rigs on the trail with us for this daring day on the rocks! From water making the obstacles that much more challenging, to snowfall during lunch on the trail, the crew had a blast testing the limits of their rigs.

As the week came to a close for trails and exploring, the team ventured back to Phoenix. As an unexpected turn of events with John and Amanda's family, making the trek home was right in the nick of time. John and Amanda had been expecting their new baby boy to be delivered to the world on April 26th, but Jett being true to his name, had other plans. Born on Good Friday, April 7th, 2023, was baby boy Jett Avery Grounds. Healthy as can be, a proud family moment, along with an uplifting end to an adventurous week!

As we look forward to the season to come, we are headed to Texas for Summit Racing Equipment with the #4415 to be showcased for the month of May inside their showroom. In the same month Joe Gatlin will take the reins on the track with the #4570 and head to Montana for the Ultra4 Big Sky 200 race! Stay on pace as we venture through the season!
